Level I One Day MTB Clinic
Sunday May 25 2008

Meeting time and place:
We will be meeting at 9:00 am – ready to ride – AT THE UPPER PARKING LOT OF MT. FALCON. There are two lots up on top; park in the first parking lot you come to. Please note!!! This is not the parking lot outside of Morrison. Our parking lot is at the top of the mtn.

Directions and parking:
From C-470, exit Hwy 285 and go west towards mtns. Then take the Parmalee Gulch/Evergreen exit. The road is narrow and winds gradually uphill. Look for the brown Jeffco Open Space sign for Mt. Falcon. Take a right. Follow the signs to the park. You know you’ve missed the turn for Mt. Falcon if you go up and over the hill towards Kittredge. Turn around.

What we’re doing:

9:00am - noon
The morning session is where we’ll review the basic fundamentals of riding a mountain bike. We’ll go over positioning, balance, cornering, braking, switchbacks, riding down stairs, riding up and down those infamous water bars, steep climbing and descending; plus anything else we can come up with – or any requests you may have.

Lunch
We’ll enjoy a yummy lunch compliments of the Alison Dunlap Adventure Camps

1:00pm-3:00pm
In the afternoon we will be applying the skills and techniques from the morning session to actual trail riding. We will be stopping to work on lots of different technical sections.

Where we’re riding:
We’ll be utilizing the trails and bike paths at the top of Mt. Falcon.

What to bring:
The weather in Denver can be a little unstable. Be prepared for sun or snow. We’ll ride in anything unless the trails are too muddy. Bring lots of layers with you in your car and we’ll see what the weather is doing when we get to the trailhead.
