What we’re doing:

8:30am – 12:30pm

Today we are going to apply the skills we learned yesterday to actual trail riding. Ute Valley Park is all about technical riding, giving us the chance to practice up and down ledges, switchbacks, small drops, steep climbs, and our descending technique. We’ll also review cornering on loose, twisty singletrack. When we come to a technical section we will stop and talk about the obstacle, demonstrate how to ride it, and give everyone as much practice time as needed. We will spend most of the day away from our cars, only coming back for lunch, so be sure to bring the appropriate clothes and enough water to last 2-3hrs.

12:30pm Lunch

We will enjoy a gourmet lunch, compliments of the Alison Dunlap Adventure Camps.

1:30pm – 3:30pm

We will continue working on our technical skills, practicing on some of the harder trails in Ute Valley Park.

Wrap-up:

We’ll talk about the past two days and how much fun we had, swap addresses, take group pictures, sign yearbooks, talk about how much we’ll miss each other, hug, cry, and finally say goodbye. We’ll also answer any questions you may have about your newly acquired skills.

What to bring:

The weather in Colorado Springs can be a little unstable. Be prepared for sun or rain. We’ll ride in anything unless the trails are too muddy. Bring lots of layers with you in your car and we’ll see what the weather is doing when we get to the trailhead.
